Yankees Place Jasson Domínguez on Injured List with Low-Grade Shoulder Sprain – Out a Few Weeks
New York Yankees have suffered another injury blow to their young outfield talent.
Jasson Domínguez will be placed on the 10-day Injured List after suffering a low-grade AC sprain in his left shoulder, manager Aaron Boone confirmed after Thursday’s 9-2 win over the Texas Rangers.

Domínguez Injured on Spectacular Catch
The 23-year-old “Martian” crashed hard into the left-field wall while making a highlight-reel catch on Brandon Nimmo’s leadoff drive in the first inning. He was carted off the field and immediately underwent testing.
Boone provided the official update post-game:
“The concussion testing so far is negative, so that’s good. We’ll obviously continue to monitor that. He’s got a low-grade, minor AC sprain of his left shoulder. That’ll put him on the IL and that could be a few weeks.”
Positive News on Concussion Protocol
While the shoulder injury will sideline Domínguez for several weeks, the Yankees received a major relief when initial concussion tests came back negative. He will continue to be monitored closely for any head-related symptoms.
Yankees Call Up Top Prospect Spencer Jones
With Domínguez heading to the IL, the Yankees are expected to call up one of their top outfield prospects, Spencer Jones, to take his roster spot.
What This Means for the Yankees
Domínguez had been providing valuable depth and athleticism in the outfield after being called up earlier this season. His absence comes at a time when the Yankees are already dealing with other injuries but remain red-hot at 25-11 and leading the AL East.
The team will now lean more heavily on veterans and emerging prospects while hoping Domínguez can return healthy before the All-Star break.
