After the Mets staged a dramatic comeback from a three-run deficit in the ninth inning to win in the 10th, Judge refused to make excuses but also emphasized the effort his teammates showed.

When speaking to reporters after the game, Judge said:

“The boys are playing hard though. That’s, I think, the biggest thing is guys are playing tough and making the plays they need to, but just coming up a little bit short. We gotta have a short memory and move on… We got a big division opponent coming in.”

Judge highlighted that despite the loss, the Yankees were competing and executing, but simply fell short in key moments. He urged the team to quickly move forward as they prepare to host the Toronto Blue Jays next.

The Yankees lost two out of three games in the Subway Series at Citi Field. The Sunday defeat dropped New York to 28-19 on the season, while the Mets improved to 17-25.

Judge himself finished the game 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout. For the three-game series, he went 3-for-11 with two walks and three strikeouts.
