A 21-year-old woman died during an extreme rope-jump activity at Skeleton Bridge in Limeira, São Paulo, Brazil, after a safety failure that is now under investigation.

The victim was identified in reports as Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas.

The incident happened on Saturday morning, June 13, 2026, during a jump organized at the bridge, a location known locally as Ponte do Esqueleto.

According to reports, Maria was moved toward the edge by workers before being released for the jump. Moments later, people at the scene realized something was wrong.

The safety rope had reportedly not been properly attached before she was released.
