New York Yankees are about to get a massive boost to their already red-hot rotation.

Carlos Rodón is expected to rejoin the big-league club this weekend (most likely Sunday, May 10 or Monday, May 11) after a strong rehab outing, according to multiple reports and manager Aaron Boone.

Rodón Nearing Activation After Solid Triple-A Start

The left-hander tossed 6.1 innings for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday and is now just one more successful start away from activation. Boone confirmed Rodón is “very close” and the plan is to have him back in the Bronx rotation immediately.

This return comes at the perfect time for a Yankees team that is already 25-11 and leading the AL East.

Yankees Rolling Without Their Aces

Even without Rodón (and Gerrit Cole still a few weeks away), the Yankees have gone 15-2 in their last 17 games, outscoring opponents 113-44. They currently lead the majors in runs scored, home runs, and OPS.

The offense — led by Aaron Judge (league-leading 15+ home runs) and a resurgent supporting cast — has been unstoppable.

What Rodón’s Return Means for New York

Rodón’s addition will give the Yankees one of the deepest and most talented rotations in baseball. With Max Fried already dominating and the bullpen performing at an elite level, New York suddenly looks even more dangerous as they head into a critical stretch of the season.

Gerrit Cole continues to progress in his own rehab but is still expected to need a couple more minor-league starts before joining Rodón.
